September Update from Sam Wagner, Music Minister
With the wonderful blessing we had recently of experiencing a total solar eclipse, we learned many things about coronas and sun flares and how to protect our eyes from the sun. One of my friends commented that he really wasn't particularly concerned about any of his choir members suffering eye damage, because he can't remember the last time they looked up.
Well, if you are looking for a place to serve at MABC, let me invite you to come be a part of one of our choirs. Bro. Ron has been challenging us to know who it is we are each called out to lead. Could this be your place of service? If so, let me help you get plugged in. September is a great time to join with our Adult Choir as preparations for Christmas are getting in full swing. Bell choirs begin the week of September 10, and our children and youth have just begun a new year of learning to serve and witness through song. Our children will be singing on Sunday morning, September 10. We'd love to have you.
Two dates to mark on your calendar now are October 1 and November 26. On October 1 we will be meeting at Everett Hills for a night of worship led by Phil Cross and our choirs. On November 26 we will begin our Christmas celebrations with Noel, Night of Everlasting Love. This musical contains the music that our students sang at EPCOT on 5 separate occasions. Nearly 40 of them will be returning to Madison Avenue that morning to join with our adults and orchestra for this wonderful time of worship. It will be an experience like none other. I hope you can attend.
